Editorial & Affiliate Policy

How the work gets done, how recommendations are made, and how affiliate links are used.

This site, the YouTube channel, and the Patreon are built on one promise: the recommendations are real. What follows is how that promise gets kept.

How the Work Gets Done

Aircraft are designed because a specific shot, mission, or use case demands it. Components earn their place on the bench. Every build, video, and config posted here reflects gear that actually flew, software that actually shipped, and lessons that showed up the hard way.

Open build files, real configs, and honest writeups—including what didn’t work—are posted because the hobby gets better when more people can participate confidently.

Editorial Independence

A piece is only labeled a review when it reflects firsthand, unpaid experience with a product. Money exchanged for a review would jeopardize editorial independence, so it doesn’t happen.

Sponsored content, when it exists, is called out clearly inside the content itself—never folded into a recommendation.

Some product links on this site are affiliate links. When you click one and buy, the retailer pays a small commission—at no extra cost to you. That commission helps offset crashed parts, tested software, and the time spent documenting it all.

A few rules govern how those links are used:

Recommendations are never for sale. Whether or not a link is affiliated has no bearing on whether a part shows up in a video, build log, or aircraft spec. If something is listed as a component on an aircraft page, it’s there because it’s the part being flown.

Affiliate revenue does not change the review bar. A review is still based on hands-on experience, not the link kind.

Not every link is an affiliate link. Many are simply the most useful destination for a reader, with no commercial relationship attached.

Sponsorships are disclosed separately. If a video or post is sponsored, that disclosure happens in-line, not buried.

If a link’s commercial relationship is ever unclear, reach out.

Risk and Liability

Comments made in a review, tutorial, or other video stand on their own and aren’t a recommendation that you should do the same. If you attempt anything seen or described here, you do so at your own risk. Full terms cover the rest.
